Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information minecraft.1337wiki.com (the “Minecraft Wiki”, part of 1337wiki) collects when you read it, which third parties are involved, and the choices you have. This is an independent fan site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Mojang Studios or Microsoft.

What we collect

There are no accounts, and comments are closed, so reading the site never asks for your name or email address. Information is collected in these ways:

  • Server logs. Like every website, our web server records standard request data: IP address, browser type, the page requested (including its full address), the referring page and the time. Our host uses these logs to run and secure the server.
  • Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets first-party cookies and sends usage data, such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser, to Google.
  • Our own house ads. Some pages show small promotions for our other projects. We count how often these are seen and clicked. Counting sets no cookies and sends nothing to third parties. To remove duplicates within a single day, we store a short code derived from your IP address and a secret that changes every day; it can’t be used to recognise you on another day or on another site.
  • The seed map. The seed map and finder tools run entirely in your browser: the seeds you enter are not sent to us. The seed and map position do appear in the page address, so they can show up in the server logs and in Google Analytics like any other page address.
  • Embedded YouTube videos. A few pages embed a video from YouTube. YouTube (Google) may set cookies and collect data when the player loads or plays, under Google’s own policy.

Your choices

Links to other sites

Pages and house ads link to other websites and app stores, such as the App Store, Google Play and our own app sites. Once you follow a link, that site’s privacy policy applies.

Children

Many Minecraft players are young. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and nothing on the site asks for it. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

How long we keep information

House-ad view and click records are kept for reporting; the daily code in them can’t be linked back to you once that day is over. Records of automated (bot) traffic are deleted after 90 days. Google Analytics data is kept according to the retention setting in our Analytics account and Google’s policies. Server logs are kept by our host for routine operation.

Sharing

We don’t sell personal information. Information reaches third parties only as described above: Google (Analytics and YouTube) and our hosting provider.
