How the slime chunk finder works
Slimes spawn below Y 40 in about one chunk in ten, chosen by the world seed. This finder highlights slime chunks in green once you zoom in to 1:4, so you can pick a chunk near your base, dig out a room below Y 40 and farm slimeballs for sticky pistons and leads.
Enter a seed in the box above the map and press Map it. The Find nearest panel on the left runs automatically for this structure and lists the closest results with distances from spawn. Click a result to center the map on it, then use Copy X Z or Copy /tp. Change the version selector to match your game; placement shifts between updates.
Tips
- Slime chunks are independent of biome and version in Java, so any version setting gives the same result.
- Slimes also spawn in swamps at night regardless of chunk; the chunk method works everywhere else.
- Light level does not matter for slime spawns in slime chunks, but the room must be below Y 40.
For what to expect inside, what spawns there and how to loot it safely, read the wiki’s slime chunk guide. To see every structure type at once, open the full seed map.
